According to Global Sources' China Procurement Information Report - Lamps and Electrical Accessories, the demand for energy-saving lamps has risen from the low point of the economic crisis as many countries have begun to implement the "ban on the use of incandescent lamps"; at the same time The export of LED lighting products is also growing. And as technology advances and production costs decrease, product prices will also fall, and market demand will continue to grow. China's lighting industry is optimistic about exports in 2010, and suppliers expect product demand to increase in the coming months: 72% of respondents said that Europe and the United States remain their main export markets. The remaining suppliers began to focus on developing emerging markets including Asia Pacific, Middle East and non-EU countries. As the European and American markets are affected by the financial crisis and demand has fallen sharply, the importance of these emerging markets is increasing.

In addition, according to the statistics in the report, 58% of the suppliers of lamps and electrical accessories said that they will work hard to develop more energy-efficient products; 18% plan to improve the durability of the products; 11% will focus on designing more aesthetically pleasing products; 8% said they would use environmentally friendly materials; 5% will focus on obtaining RoHS certification.
