The qualified rate of refrigerators and washing machines is less than 40%

According to random inspection results, the unqualified products include Omar, Xiaoya, Xinbao and some other well-known domestic brands, as well as unknown brands such as Budweiser, Sino-Italian, Chenjia, Moore, and Wanbao. The unqualified quality problems mainly focus on signs and instructions, power consumption, energy efficiency index, heat generation, power connection and external cords, total effective volume, etc.

By contrast, the Beijing Commercial Daily reporter found that the energy efficiency standard is still the hardest-hit area of ​​the home appliance industry. Among the unqualified 45 batches of products, 16 batches of products failed to pass the “Energy Efficiency Index” test, accounting for more than 1/3 of the total. According to analysis by industry experts, the energy efficiency index is mainly used by the state to distinguish the energy efficiency level of household electrical appliances, so that products can be divided into multiple levels according to different functional indexes. Usually, different grades of products often have certain differences in selling prices. The failure of a company's energy efficiency index is often due to an increase in the energy efficiency level of a company's energy-inefficient products, so as to seek benefits and enhance product market competitiveness.

Hung Shibin, executive chairman of the China Home Appliances Association’s Marketing Committee, pointed out that refrigerators and washing machines are relatively mature categories in the home appliance industry. The major quality problems are mainly due to the low awareness of consumer rights protection in the 3rd and 4th markets. Consumers' brand awareness is weak, and the penalties imposed by the regulatory authorities are insufficient. As a result, many companies often know the law and break the law, hoping to occupy the market through the level of virtual energy efficiency.

Regarding the unqualified products found in random inspections, the administrative department for industry and commerce of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region has ordered it to stop its sales and will impose penalties in accordance with relevant laws and regulations. It also stated that all publicity companies and relevant distributors of unqualified goods should take measures such as recall, delisting and delisting in accordance with the requirements of relevant laws and regulations. If no relevant measures are taken, the industrial and commercial department will be based on the Consumer Protection Act. And other laws and regulations to be investigated and dealt with.
