Olympus Medical Endoscope Integrated Video System Solution
Olympus Medical Systems announced that it will launch three new video oscilloscope products for otolaryngology and urology in Japan starting from early October 2011. In addition, small endoscope cleaning and disinfecting devices for outpatients that support these oscilloscopes will also be available in Japan starting October 3, 2011.
These three video oscilloscopes are products of the VISERA ELITE series of endoscopic integrated video systems from Olympus Medical Systems. There are two models of ENT video oscilloscopes, namely "OLYMPUS ENF-VH" and "OLYMPUS ENF-V3" (both listed in early October 2011). There is a video oscilloscope for bladder and renal pelvis, which is "OLYMPUS CYF-VHA" (listed in early December 2011). The product name of the endoscope cleaning and disinfecting device is "OER-S". The characteristics of each product are as follows.
The ENT video oscilloscope ENF-VH and the original video oscilloscope (ENF-VQ) maintain the same outer diameter of the tip (3.9mm), while supporting high definition (HD, High DefiniTIon). According to reports, ENF-VH can display a finer image than the original, allowing more detailed observations, which is conducive to improving diagnostic accuracy. In addition, the narrow-band imaging (NBI, Narrow Band Imaging) observation will increase the color contrast of tiny blood vessels, thereby improving the visibility. The viewing angle is 110 degrees and the observation depth is 5-50 mm.
The ENT video oscilloscope ENF-V3 reduces the outer diameter of the tip to 2.6mm, which is said to help alleviate the pain of diagnosis in young children and patients with nasal stenosis. In addition, although it is a standard definition (SD, Standard DefiniTIon) image, it achieves the best high-quality image at the same level. The viewing angle is 90 degrees, and the observation depth is 3.5-50 mm.
The bladder pelvis video oscilloscope CYF-VHA is the "first in the world" (Olympus Medical Systems) in this type of oscilloscope to support high definition. Allegedly, this helps to improve the diagnostic accuracy of cystoscopy. In addition, the outer diameter of the tip of CYF-VHA is reduced to 2.7mm, which can reduce the pain caused to the patient when inserting the endoscope. The viewing angle is 120 degrees and the observation depth is 3 to 50 mm.
The endoscope cleaning and disinfecting device OER-S reduces the size to 520mm (W) & TImes; 516mm (D) & TImes; 377mm (H) (excluding protrusions), which can be placed on the table in the outpatient room. The weight is 35kg (dry state). It is envisaged to be used for cleaning endoscopes and accessories in otolaryngology, urology, gynecology and anesthesiology of Olympus Medical Systems.
