Global white LED rankings released in Japan, Osram, Seoul, the top three

According to a survey released by The Nikkei Group (Japan) in July, Seoul Semiconductor, the world's leading LED supplier, announced that it ranks third in the global white LED market. The report shows that Seoul Semiconductor has shown growth in the global market share of white LEDs, reaching 5.7%. The top ranked is Japan's Nichia (32.0%), followed by Germany's OSRAM Opto Semiconductors (OSRAM) (7.9%).

Compared with last year, Seoul Semiconductor’s market share grew rapidly, with a 2.4% increase. According to reports, Nichia’s market share fell by 4.5% from the same period last year, and OSRAM fell by 1.1% year-on-year.

Seoul Semiconductor has launched its business in North America, and according to the "LED Market Report" released by IMS Research, the authoritative market research organization last year, and the report released by Strategies Unlimited in July this year, Seoul Semiconductor ranks among the top four LEDs in the world.

White LEDs play a decisive role in many market segments, especially in solid-state lighting, where white LEDs are energy-efficient and have a long service life, which makes them key to reducing energy consumption and reducing maintenance costs.

Seoul Semiconductor is a vertically integrated enterprise, including EPIs, chips, packages and modules, with more than 5,000 patents, a strong competitive advantage, creating a good cost competitiveness, and flexible market resilience. Seoul Semiconductor will continue to increase construction investment, with the goal of achieving a monthly capacity of 1.5 billion pieces. At the same time, the company also focuses on identifying and cultivating high-quality talent to support and maintain this good growth.
