Nihon University launches OLED components that can be driven with 1.97V voltage

It is reported that the Yamato University OLED Research Center has successfully developed a next-generation OLED device that can be driven with a voltage lower than the theoretical limit (2.38V).

The OLED component developed by Yamagata University can be driven with a voltage of 1.97V. Under such voltage, its brightness is not high. However, if the voltage is increased to 2.49V, the brightness can be increased to 1,000cd/ of large LCD TVs. M2, further increased to 3.0V (equivalent to two No. 3 dry batteries), the brightness can be increased to 5,000 cd / m2 comparable to the fluorescent lamp, its efficiency will exceed the LED.

It is understood that the power consumption of products using the above newly developed OLED components can be reduced by about 30%, so in the case of higher efficiency than LEDs, the possibility of rapid popularization of OLEDs will be greatly improved. Yamagata University's product development is green OLED, but the application of newly developed technology can also achieve the same effect on white OLED, and Yamagata University plans to halve the power consumption after three years.

With the development of LED, the requirement of brightness of white LED is also getting higher and higher.

In the brightness of the 0.06W LED lamp can reach the highest 8-9LM and 0.2W LED lamp can reach about 24LM. White SMD LED is brighter than the white LED lamp. The power can reach 0.5W 1W 3W. Excellent consistency of the white LED is our advantage.
