Orange Flexible Computing Advanced helps companies create hybrid cloud infrastructure in Asia Pacific

· Hong Kong provides regional IaaS with two other data centers in the Asia Pacific region

· Enables organizations to fully adopt the best-in-class cloud technologies

Recently, Orange Business Services announced that it will further expand its next-generation IaaS cloud service in the Asia Pacific region, namely Flexible CompuTIng Advanced. The service is aimed at large global multinationals, which typically have multiple data center and network needs because of their multinational operations.

Flexible CompuTIng Advanced standardizes customers' cloud infrastructure and consolidates them into a globally consistent and reliable virtual private cloud, so customers can greatly reduce their total cost of ownership. Companies can easily expand or shrink their IT resources based on actual business needs and pay only for actual usage. They also benefit greatly from enterprise-class control, flexibility, scalability, and security that are supported by industry-leading global networks.

Flexible CompuTIng Advanced enables organizations to create virtual data centers (VDCs) that can be expanded as resources (CPU, RAM, storage, backup, network bandwidth, etc.). It can be managed either by the customer through the Self Service Portal or by Orange Business Services. In addition, customers can add physical servers if they have specific needs. Orange provides end-to-end service level agreements (SLAs) and management for the entire infrastructure.

In the Asia Pacific region, Flexible CompuTIng Advanced delivers through Orange Cloud Service Data Center nodes in Hong Kong, Singapore and Sydney, covering customers in the region and Europe. Customer data and applications are hosted in a 3+ data center with comprehensive backup and disaster recovery services.

John Marcus, principal analyst at Current Analysis, said: "After launching the service, Orange Business Services has a comprehensive private cloud, virtual private cloud and hosted hybrid IT services to meet the unique needs of the enterprise in the mixed IT development phase. The solution 'Flexible Computing Advanced' and its powerful multi-cloud blending capabilities combine private and public clouds into a single cloud infrastructure, giving organizations the flexibility to adopt best-in-class cloud technologies. No solution or cloud can handle all the needs perfectly."

Derrick Loi, Senior Director, Asia Pacific, Orange Cloud for Business, said: "Orange Business Services has a comprehensive and in-depth portfolio of infrastructure, applications and managed services that provide optimized end-to-end data center and cloud infrastructure solutions. Hong Kong launched Flexible Computing Advanced because it is a regional hub for many multinational companies in the Pearl River Delta. We believe this will help meet the growing demand for IaaS in the Asia Pacific region."
