CES2017: Lego launches Lego Boos to turn building blocks into programming robots
According to foreign media The Verge and Cnet, at the CES 2017 show, LEGO brought a new Lego Boost collection for children and young players. Unlike simple splicing blocks, Lego Boost has a certain level of programming that allows children to enjoy custom programming while playing.
The Lego Boost collection consists of five products: a robot called Vernie, a kitten called Frankie, a guitar (Guitar 4000), a multiplexed probe 4 (MulTI-Tool Rover 4, MTR4) and A 3D build platform. In addition, Lego Boost comes with 3 Boost modules that can withstand most of the weight, including a tilt sensor, color distance sensor and an engine, as well as 843 traditional Lego parts and a special crawl. What makes Lego Boost unique is that players can control robot activity through the accompanying iOS or Android app. In addition, the way LEGO offers is much simpler than the line-by-line program code. Children only need to stack the various modules together according to the idea, and then press the start button to get it.
In fact, Lego Boost is a Lego company toolkit with programming modules. The programming module is compatible with existing Lego toys and turns them into electric toys or motion-sensing toys. The app also records voice so users can speak to their LEGO robot pets.
The Lego Boost kit comes with instructions that allow users to build the Lego Boost range of 5 products mentioned above. Not only that, any existing LEGO bricks can create new works on this basis. Lego introduced: “For example, players can build a sports base for making a dragon or a pony, or a driving base for a car such as a buggy, a probe car, and a castle for kids to build their own. It is understood that the Lego Boost kit will be available in the second half of 2017 for $160. This series is mainly for children over 7 years old.
