Addison Optoelectronics' May revenue rose, up 127.92% year-on-year

Edison Opto, a high-power LED packaging factory in China, announced that its revenue in May was NT$295 million (US$9.12 billion), a year-on-year increase of 127.92%. From January to May 2010, the company's total revenue reached NT$1.99 billion, a year-on-year increase of 141.64%.

Addison's product portfolio includes LED components and modules, data transmission components and sensor components. In May, the sales share of these three products accounted for 59.64%, 20.51% and 13.23% respectively. The sales share of overseas markets accounted for 56.79%.

At present, Addison Optoelectronics is diversifying its LED modules to enter different applications, including LED-backlit TVs.

In terms of S/PDIF data transmission components, Addison has shipped 30 million products and its market share is 30%, making it the world's third largest manufacturer. As far as sensors are concerned, it breaks into the supply chain of mobile phone brand manufacturers, which will account for 20% of total product revenue in 2010.

In 2009, Addison's revenue reached NT$1.712 billion, and its after-tax profit was NT$325 million, or NT$5.31 per share. In the first quarter of 2010, the company's total consolidated revenue reached NT$605 million.
