Cree launches C1010 to help realize a new generation of high-definition indoor display

Cree (NASDAQ: CREE) introduces a three-in-one red, green and blue (RGB) surface mount device (SMD) C1010 LED. This breakthrough device enables display manufacturers to develop high-end displays with higher definition and better dynamic display than previous products.

Compared to other similar products, the C1010 LED achieves better spot matching and less power consumption, and can increase contrast by 40% and provide longer life. The C1010 is the only high-density display LED device on the market that has no side leakage, which enables a display without a louvers, reducing cost and weight.

Experiments show that with the cutting edge LED technology, C1010 has more than twice the life expectancy of LEDs under accelerated high temperature and high humidity test conditions. With the new technology, this compact 1.0mm x 1.0mm LED device offers the possibility of reaching 140mcd at 5mA. The ultra-black appearance allows it to perform better in different application environments.
