Japan's largest mobile operator's VR glasses sold 750,000 or so sad?
Recently, DTV VR, a subsidiary of DoCoMo, the largest mobile operator in Japan, announced that it has commissioned its partner, Sanko Corporation, to launch its own brand of VR glasses, GateScope, with a total volume of 750,000 shipments.
NTT DoCMo is currently Japan's largest mobile telecommunications operator. It includes streaming video service "DTV", which has about 4.5 million member users by the end of 2015. Starting in August 2016, DTV began pushing VR Channel "VR Gateway" for members. On August 27th and August 28th, at the two-day "a-nation stadium fes" performance held at the Tokyo Stadium, DTV distributed 110,000 VR glasses to audiences and visitors.
At the same time, from February 1st onwards, DTV will distribute 600,000 "GateScopes" for its members at DoCoMo offline stores across Japan.
